Material Handler - Food Services - Rotating Shifts - Methodist Hospital
Position:
Material Handler in the Food and Nutrition Department at Indiana University Health. Full‑time, 40 hours per week with rotating shifts (7:30 am–3:30 pm, 12:30 pm–9:00 pm, including weekends and holidays). Eligible for shift differentials.
• Unload and stock deliveries in the dish room, using a pull forklift.
• Lift, push, pull, bend, and kneel to transfer materials and equipment.
• Prepare, plate, serve, and transport food and supplies to patients, families, physicians, staff, and the public.
• Provide quick, accurate, and courteous service and resolve customer concerns.
• Follow sanitation, cleaning, and infection‑control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operate food‑service and computer equipment, including the CBORD system.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- No experience required.
- Knowledge of basic food safety, infection control, and sanitation;
Serve Safe training may be required. - ISDOH certification of Food handler under Title 410 IAC 7‑22 may be required at some locations.
- Basic computer skills and CBORD system familiarity preferred.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods; lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling required.
