Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral appointee position in the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) Department of Dermatology.
The Mimche Lab is seeking a highly motivated and energetic post-doctoral research associate to support research efforts aimed at deciphering the molecular mechanism of axonal guidance cues in the pathogenesis of fibrotic diseases, including metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). The successful candidate will also participate in translational research activities aimed at characterizing potential novel compounds for the treatment of fibrosis.
The individual will report directly to the principal investigator, Dr. Patrice Mimche.

Basic QualificationsApplicants must have a PhD in immunology or other scientific disciplines in a related field. Knowledge and understanding of modern molecular biology, immunology and biochemical techniques including ChIP-sequencing and other multi-omics techniques is a plus. Strong analytical and computer skills are required, including proficiency with basic data analysis programs (Excel, Graph Pad Prism, sequence analysis software, etc.) and application of statistics.
A record of accomplishment and publication in scientific journals. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Prior knowledge and experience in MASH fibrosis research are desirable. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to communicate objectives and results.
