Our client, a leading manufacturer in the Bristol area, is seeking a hands‑on Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives on driving process improvements, solving root causes, and partnering cross‑functionally to deliver operational excellence.

The Quality Manager plays a critical role in aligning quality, safety, and production goals—ensuring compliance, reducing defects, and implementing sustainable engineering and manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with DOT, FMVSS, ISO, and internal standards
  • Lead internal and external audits
  • Monitor and improve key quality metrics, including defects, scrap, rework, and warranty claims
  • Embed quality standards into manufacturing through inspection plans, control plans, and testing procedures
  • Manage nonconformance processes, quality holds, and product dispositions
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Resolve internal quality issues, customer complaints, and warranty claims
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes
  • Oversee supplier quality performance, audits, and incoming inspection strategies
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality team members while promoting accountability and a culture of continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment (fabrication, welding, or assembly preferred)
  • Strong experience with root cause analysis, SPC, corrective action processes, and audit management
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in trailer, vehicle, or heavy equipment manufacturing
  • Knowledge of DOT, FMVSS, and ISO 9001 standards
  • CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma certification

If you are a proactive quality leader who enjoys building strong systems, developing teams, and driving measurable improvements, we encourage you to apply today.
