🕔 Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. (Occasional Saturdays 5:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.)
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the Bristol area, is seeking a hands‑on Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives on driving process improvements, solving root causes, and partnering cross‑functionally to deliver operational excellence.
The Quality Manager plays a critical role in aligning quality, safety, and production goals—ensuring compliance, reducing defects, and implementing sustainable engineering and manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Own and maintain the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with DOT, FMVSS, ISO, and internal standards
- Lead internal and external audits
- Monitor and improve key quality metrics, including defects, scrap, rework, and warranty claims
- Embed quality standards into manufacturing through inspection plans, control plans, and testing procedures
- Manage nonconformance processes, quality holds, and product dispositions
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Resolve internal quality issues, customer complaints, and warranty claims
- Support new product launches and engineering changes
- Oversee supplier quality performance, audits, and incoming inspection strategies
- Lead, mentor, and develop Quality team members while promoting accountability and a culture of continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment (fabrication, welding, or assembly preferred)
- Strong experience with root cause analysis, SPC, corrective action processes, and audit management
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow
- Experience in trailer, vehicle, or heavy equipment manufacturing
- Knowledge of DOT, FMVSS, and ISO 9001 standards
- CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma certification
