Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during the daily activities of the overall construction on large scale wind, solar, and industrial projects.
  • Include but not limited to roads, environmental (SWPPP), excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking & PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors and a wide variety of other mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Plan and conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC and QA data are properly and accurately recorded.
  • Monitor and record all work scope being executed on a daily basis and follow reporting criteria as determined by FQM and/or the client.
  • Prevent deficiencies while working closely with field operating teams through pre‑construction quality control inspections.
  • Detect deficiencies and address them in a timely and effective manner.
  • Work closely with the field quality staff as their field representative to ensure construction understands and follows the QA/QC requirements.
  • Interface with field supervision to maintain an open line of communication and reporting; monitor job progress, schedules and subcontractor performance.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections so they can be transferred to permanent hard copy and/or electronic files.
  • Inspect the work and establish punch lists.
  • Capable of determining calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
  • Ensure daily task schedules are met to meet the project schedule.
  • Interact cross‑functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field, or high school graduate/GED plus 1–3 years experience in related construction field.
  • Inspection related certifications, such as NDE (preferred).
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day‑to‑day delivery of this role by working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles.
  • Can independently perform work.
  • Self‑starter, organized and has good interpersonal skills.
  • Read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
  • Write daily reports and document project activities.
  • Effectively collect and record field data to assure activities are conforming to corporate Quality Control procedures.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project tasks.
  • Preferred:
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume.
  • Preferred:
    Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.
