Role: Landscaping Technician II (Landscaping Crew Leader responsibilities may apply in related context)

Responsibilities

• General Landscaping:
  Oversees team members and performs planting and related activities; performs routine lawn maintenance including grass cutting, lawn edging, weed pulling, and other routine lawn-maintenance activities; uses lawn mower and related equipment; provides seasonal lawn care (spring and fall clean-up); moves materials and equipment and assists in landscaping and hardscaping; digs holes and trenches and excavates for landscaping and hardscaping; hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials;
  
  hand-finishes grade and applies seed, straw, or sod; maintains assigned equipment and notifies Landscaping Supervisor of repairs; responds politely to customer inquiries and projects a professional image; loads equipment and materials on/off trucks and trailers; performs snow removal activities as assigned; assists Facilities Maintenance staff on preventive maintenance, work orders, painting and other maintenance projects as assigned.
• Chemical Treatments:
  Applies chemicals under the direction of a licensed chemical applicator.
• Special Projects:
  Assist and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education and
  
  Work Experience:
  
  Some High School or Equivalent (required);
  High School Diploma or GED (preferred);
  State Driver’s License and insurable with company  agent (preferred).
• Competencies:
  
  Ability to train new associates and educate them on processes, systems and equipment; working knowledge of standard horticultural practices; ability to read and write in English; reliable attendance at required times; ability to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently.
