The Registered Nurse in AICU creates, nurtures, and sustains a healthy work environment with a focus on the patient. Our staff members take ownership of decisions in which top quality outcomes are achieved. The AICU is a mixed specialty unit with a variety of surgical, medical, and cardiac critically ill patients.
On this 12-bed Adult ICU , experienced Registered Nurses care for a diverse and clinically complex population, including patients with respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis and shock, DKA, heart and renal failure, STEMIs, strokes, and complex ENT and high-risk surgical cases. Nurses regularly manage mechanically ventilated patients, titrate multiple high-risk IV drips (vasoactive, sedative, insulin, and cardiac infusions), and gain exposure to advanced therapies such as CRRT and invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
Registered nurses on the AICU practice with a high level of autonomy while collaborating closely with intensivists, hospitalists, PT/OT, case management, and patient and family liaisons to deliver evidence-based, multidisciplinary critical care. The unit supports a broad range of acuity, allowing ICU nurses to apply and maintain advanced critical care skills while caring for both high-acuity and medically complex patients across cardiac, medical, and surgical populations.
As a smaller unit,
Registered Nurses on the AICU benefit from strong interdisciplinary teamwork and accessible leadership that understands the demands of ICU practice and supports professional growth, flexibility, and work-life balance.
