Talented Medical Solutions is seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN – Psych) for a contract opportunity in Pierceton, Indiana. In this role, you’ll support individuals experiencing psychiatric and behavioral health challenges while working in a team-focused environment that values care, consistency, and professionalism.
This is an ideal role for travel nurses or Indiana locals looking to make a direct and lasting difference in mental health care.
Position Overview
As a Psych RN, you'll be responsible for assessing, planning, and coordinating mental health care for patients in a structured facility. Your focus will be on creating a safe, therapeutic environment and supporting recovery through compassionate nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and support care planning
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects
- Respond to crisis situations with de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and care staff
- Document behaviors, interventions, and patient progress
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Active Indiana RN license (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
- Current BLS certification (required)
- CPI or similar crisis intervention certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
- Excellent communication, observation, and clinical judgment skills
