IU Health Physicians is seeking an Anesthetist in Indianapolis, IN!
Position Highlights- Participate in the growth of the anesthetist profession within the adult academic health center including IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals
- Involvement in student, resident and fellow training, including a faculty appointment
- Full‑Time, Monday‑Friday, flexible scheduling - will consider 4x10s, 3x13s and 5x8s
- No weekend work or call required
- Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities including: endoscopy, ERCP, GYN, ENT, dental, plastics, urology, ortho, trauma, NORA, general, neuro, and spine. Plans to expand anesthetist coverage to vascular, cardiac, and OB
- Procedures include: IV placement, airway management, arterial & central cath placement, general & regional anesthesia
- Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant:
- Must have graduated with a Master’s degree from a CAAHEP accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program
- Must have passed the Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants or the CDQ examination and hold current certification
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist:
- Must have graduated from Master’s level Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs
- Must have passed the National Certification Examination and hold current certification from the Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- Must hold current ACLS and PALS certifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana

IU Health Methodist Hospital is a large tertiary referral center with over 1,000 beds, including more than 130 ICU beds. It serves as the largest trauma center in Indianapolis and is a highly subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care.
IU Health is building a new downtown hospital and campus, which will consolidate operations of the adjacent IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Construction is well underway and the new hospital is expected to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16‑story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building directly east of the new hospital.
