Position OverviewThe Staff Development and Infection Control Nurse (LPN, RN) collaborates with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director to develop and deliver in‑service training on infection control procedures for the nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Develop in‑service training programs that meet continuing education requirements for licensed personnel (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
- Maintain active Infection Control programs and ensure nursing staff follows established procedures during isolation precautions.
- Serve on and attend facility committees such as Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, and Quality Assessment & Assurance.
- Conduct daily rounds to ensure nursing staff perform assignments per acceptable nursing standards.
- Review fridge temperatures, First Dose room temps BID, crack cart audits, infection control rounding, fall interventions, med carts, HIPAA violations, TSS, and medication rooms.
- Administer employee vaccinations and maintain accurate records.
- Provide patient care as needed and participate in campus on‑call rotation per schedule.
- Current, valid state LPN or RN license.
- Infection Preventionist certification or willingness to attend a certification training program.
- Current, valid CPR certification.
Compensation will be determined based on the relevant license or certification held and the candidate’s years of experience.
