The RN will work in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center, developing clinical expertise, engaging in multidisciplinary teamwork, and having opportunities for progress and leadership.
Nursing Skills Developed- Critical thinking in a fast‑paced environment
- Ambulatory experience
- Infusion experience
- Central line access and maintenance, PIVs, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product, and medication administration
- Training on hypersensitivity reaction
- Patient advocacy
- Flexibility and adaptability
- APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy certified nurses
- Team of highly dedicated nurses and medical assistants
- Clinical nurse participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Work directly with oncology trained pharmacists on site infusion area
- Encourage nurse‑led governance councils
- Multiple coaches available for training
- Potential to move into a leadership position
- Associate of Nursing (ASN) required;
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred - Valid Indiana RN license
- RN must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Exception: candidates without such graduation may be considered if they have more than two years of acute care experience (subject to review by the Chief Nursing Officer)
- Basic Life Support certification (AHA)
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty
