The Communications & Engagement Specialist plays a critical role in advancing this mission by implementing communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for Glick Philanthropies.

As a member of a small team, you will work closely with all team members and have a significant voice in determining the organization’s communications and engagement strategy. Working in partnership with the Communications & Engagement Manager, you will serve as the organization’s primary content creator, including writing for various channels.
Responsibilities Communications- Coordinate the full social media lifecycle, including content development, posting, engagement, and reporting.
- Manage content and updates for the Glick Philanthropies and Glick Housing Foundation websites, including developing an editorial calendar, drafting content, and ensuring the websites are up to date.
- Develop and distribute email newsletters, collaborate with peers for content ideas, develop content, manage the editing process, distribute the final product, report on performance, and recommend adjustments.
- Support video, photography, and multimedia content creation; identify stories, conduct interviews, and coordinate production logistics.
- Develop content for various channels and formats, including presentations, one‑pagers, reports, collateral, thought leadership, announcements, blog posts, media materials, emails, and other necessary content.
- Conduct media monitoring and provide media relations support, partnering with the Communications & Engagement Manager to set a proactive and reactive media strategy, develop media materials, pitch media, and monitor news coverage.
- Provide communications and copy‑editing support to other team members.
- Perform metric tracking and reporting.
- Partner with focus‑area portfolio managers to support engagement with nonprofit partners and the broader community, including beyond‑the‑check supports to grant recipients.
- Support event planning and coordination, working with team members to plan and coordinate events such as peer and nonprofit partner convenings, board meetings, and Glick family engagements.
- Manage various projects using the project management system to ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and deadline completion.
- Conduct assigned research to inform strategies and communications.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of applicable communications experience.
- Experience working for or with nonprofits or philanthropy is a plus.
- Strong alignment with Glick Philanthropies’ mission and values of equity, compassion, and integrity.
- Strong copywriting and editing abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and project manage.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; excellent organizational and workload prioritizing skills.
- Ability to organize, facilitate, and manage projects and meetings efficiently.
- Working knowledge of content management systems (Word Press preferred) and digital graphics production (Canva and Adobe Suite).
- Experience managing social media platforms and marketing (currently active on Facebook and Linked In); general digital advertising knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and other reporting systems.
- Proficiency with basic office equipment and extensive knowledge of MS Office products.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties for team success.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
