Organization Mission:
The Village of Merici provides an innovative approach to services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities focused on independent living.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all resident programming across all locations, ensuring clear communication, minimal scheduling conflicts, and high-quality experiences for residents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, volunteers, and organizations to support inclusive, engaging, and integrated programming.
- Manage program communication and coordination, including creating and distributing newsletters, maintaining calendars, and tracking participation and outcomes.
- Organize and facilitate regular resident meetings, including CATS/Town Hall meetings, to support communication, shared decision-making, and community guidelines.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate social, educational, and wellness programming across all locations, including group activities, community outings, and organizational events.
- Develop and maintain learning opportunities that promote health, wellness, relationships, life skills, and spiritual development.
- Maintain the master program calendar for all locations, proactively managing conflicts, cancellations, and schedule changes.
- Support overall program development initiatives aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Be available to support tours for interested parties as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, service providers, and civic groups throughout Lawrence, Indianapolis, and surrounding areas.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for residents to participate in the broader community (parks, YMCA, arts organizations, colleges, clubs, volunteer groups, and events).
- Represent the Village of Merici at meetings, events, and collaborative activities as an ambassador of the organization’s mission.
- Develop collaborative programming that reflects Merici’s “community within a community” model.
- Build and maintain relationships with local school systems to support collaboration and outreach initiatives.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers supporting educational, social, and leisure activities, including collaboration with volunteer committees as applicable.
- Coordinate interns and practicum students to support program delivery.
- Lead and support family engagement efforts, including quarterly Family Council meetings across all locations.
- Recruit and manage Merici City Rides Program
- Produce and distribute the Village of Merici newsletter and program updates and oversee additional location-specific newsletters.
- Support the development of social media and creative content that reflects the organization’s culture and community.
- Maintain routine communication with residents, families, and staff through the One Call system, community boards, and weekly updates.
- Track program participation, outcomes, and required data for reporting, planning, and grant support.
- Operate within approved program budgets and track expenses as required.
- Assist leadership with technology oversight as needed, including support of the technology lab.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure programs are effective, efficient, and mission aligned.
- Assist with identifying community resources, funding opportunities, and partnerships.
- Support grant writing, reporting, and fundraising efforts related to programming.
- Demonstrate initiative in advancing the Village of Merici’s vision and long-term goals.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
