Overview
The Volunteer and Program Coordinator is responsible for leading volunteer initiatives, supporting agency programs, and assisting with fundraising events. This position will manage volunteer operations for Popsie’s Pantry, coordinate seasonal campaigns such as Adopt-a-Family, and provide logistical support for programs and events, and contributing to social media outreach. The role also includes administrative duties such as answering phone calls, greeting office visitors, and maintaining accurate records.
This position is expected to work on-site during regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours for special events. The role is posted as a full-time (40 hours per week) position, but flexible scheduling for 30 hours per week may be considered. The office is located at 6905 Hoover Rd., Indianapolis 46260.
Salary ranges between $40,000-$50,000 based upon experience (structured for 40-hour work week).

Key Duties and Responsibilities- Manage volunteers for Popsie’s Pantry, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and coordinating food drives.
- Organize seasonal support programs (Passover Food Drive, School Supplies Drive, and Chanukah Adopt-a-Family), coordinating donations and managing logistics while ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide logistical support for agency programs, including legal clinic, trainings, and older adult programming (room reservations, supplies, day-of setup).
- Support agency fundraising events through volunteer coordination, outreach, and logistics planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners to expand volunteer opportunities.
- Assist with social media content related to volunteer recruitment, seasonal initiatives, and events.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting office visitors, maintaining records, scheduling, and general office support.
- Work collaboratively with other JFS team members to integrate with services offered by agency and to develop innovative approaches and programming ideas to benefit client population.
- Maintain confidentiality to the highest degree in all personal and professional interactions and communications, following the Social Work Code of Ethics or other professional codes that are applicable, as well as JFS agency policy.
- Bachelor’s Degree or comparable
- Event coordinator experience is a plus
- Experience working in a non-profit setting is a plus
- Well-organized and detail oriented with excellent multi-tasking abilities
- Proficiency with technology
- Ability to work on a team and independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
