Job DescriptionThe Robinson Community Learning Center (RCLC) is an off-campus educational initiative of the University of Notre Dame that champions South Bend by promoting innovation and excellence. As a force multiplier, the Robinson Center leverages community and Notre Dame partners to provide educational opportunities for all ages, enhance existing systems, and build individual and regional capacity. Ameri Corps members serving at RCLC share in the center's commitment to hospitality, education, partnership, civic engagement, and sustainability.
Ameri Corps' mission is to bring Americans together by strengthening communities. RCLC programs in which Ameri Corps members are placed include: preschool classrooms, after school tutoring and enrichment programs, Shakespeare and drama integration, senior outreach, La Casa de Amistad partnership and the Moreau College Initiative at the Westville Correctional Facility. Ameri Corps members serving in the theater program serve at RCLC main campus (1004 N Eddy Street, South Bend, IN 46617) and at local, partnership schools during the academic year.
Responsibilities- Assist Program Director with Theater Lab activities during the academic year and/or summer, including weekly rehearsals, set and costume preparation, and final performances of recitals and plays.
- Assist with development and implementation of Theater Lab activities, which may include professional development presentations, teaching drama integration classes at local schools, and conducting after-school drama activities.
- Assist with drama curriculum development and implementation. Help to align learning objectives to Indiana State Core Standards.
- Assist with program evaluation, which may include working with staff to ensure that pre-post testing is completed at appropriate times and the results collected, and distributing/collecting evaluation surveys.
- Work with RCLC Program Director to explore opportunities to expand existing programming to include additional activities, times, or sites.

- Assist in recruiting/coordination of volunteers to participate in RCLC programs, and maintain ongoing communication with volunteers and Volunteer Coordinator. Support volunteers during/after RCLC activities.
- Support the documentation of RCLC program activities through photographs and text, and submit information regularly to the RCLC web site and social media.
- Oversee special projects as requested, and work with RCLC program staff to coordinate special events.
- Attend weekly Ameri Corps meetings at the RCLC.
Living Allowance and Education Award details depend on Ameri Corps member status.
- Living Allowance:
Total living allowance varies by status (Full-time, Half-time, Quarter-time, Minimum-time). - Education Award:
Eligible to receive the Segal Ameri Corps Education Award after completing service.
- Training and experience in education and workforce development; possible professional certifications (e.g., Child and Youth Care Worker).
- Opportunity to lead multiple projects and serve in a non-profit setting.
- Collaborate with community partners and Notre Dame departments.
Academic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Experience in theater, media or the arts
- Experience working with youth
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual skills a plus
Pay Range: Living stipend varies by Ameri Corps status. Education Awards vary by successful completion of term.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, hours variable between 7:30am-6:30pm depending on Ameri Corps member status and term.
Number of Months:
- September 1, 2025 - July 31, 2026
