Role Overview:
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing clear, consistent, and compelling internal and external communications that strengthen The Garrett Companies’ brand, reputation, and culture. This role owns communication strategy and execution across social media, public relations, campaigns, awards, and executive visibility, ensuring messaging is aligned, intentional, and impactful.
- Own the planning and execution of communication campaigns.
- Develop strategic messaging frameworks that ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across all communication channels.
- Translate business priorities into effective communication plans that support brand, culture, and reputation objectives.
- Track and report on communication effectiveness, campaign reach, and engagement metrics.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, coordinating interviews, statements, and responses.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, industry publications, and external partners.
- Proactively identify and pitch PR opportunities that highlight company milestones, leadership perspectives, and organizational impact.
- Support crisis communications planning and response, as needed.
- Own PR-related event coordination and media engagement opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure messaging supports broader corporate objectives.
- Own social media planning and content strategy across internal and external platforms, including Linked In and Playbook.
- Develop content calendars, messaging themes, and engagement strategies that support brand and communication goals.
- Ensure social content aligns with broader communication campaigns and brand voice.
- Monitor performance metrics and optimize content strategy based on engagement and impact.
- Own conference exposure strategy, including identifying, securing, and supporting speaking and panel opportunities.
- Partner with leadership to develop messaging, abstracts, and supporting materials for speaking engagements.
- Coordinate promotion and follow-up communication related to conference participation and thought leadership.
- Track impact and visibility gained through conference and industry exposure.
- Own the award submission process for industry, workplace culture, and employer recognition programs.
- Identify award opportunities aligned with brand, culture, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data, testimonials, and supporting materials.
- Track award outcomes and leverage recognition through internal and external communications.
- Serve as the lead copywriter and content strategist for communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and tone alignment.
- Create and edit content for press releases, announcements, executive communications, thought leadership, and digital platforms.
- Ensure messaging is audience-appropriate, on‑brand, and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Maintain messaging consistency across all communication touchpoints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate messaging.
- Proven experience owning communication strategy, PR, and content development.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience managing social media strategy and media relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to work in unison with a team.
- Takes full responsibility for actions and works collaboratively to find solutions.
