SummaryA large food processing operation is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily activities within the Deboning, harvest, and rendering Department
. This role oversees production employees, operating procedures, and working conditions to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are consistently met. The position reports to a departmental superintendent.
- Lead and support team members in producing high‑quality products in accordance with company standards.
- Enforce safety policies and regulatory requirements; maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provide job‑related training and maintain cross‑training/rotation standards.
- Communicate effectively to coach employees, address performance issues, and ensure corrective actions are documented and followed.
- Promote a positive, respectful work culture while upholding ethical standards.
- Execute production schedules and ensure all quality, safety, and processing procedures are followed.
- Maintain accountability on team performance, attendance, and adherence to workplace expectations.
- Monitor production metrics and implement timely improvements to meet output and quality targets.
- Utilize problem‑solving and continuous improvement tools to drive productivity and reduce errors.
- Manage workflow, staffing, and scheduling to meet production and facility goals.
- Lead process audits and oversee corrective/preventive actions to minimize deviations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, GMPs, and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to support smooth, efficient facility operations.
- Assist with pre‑operational checks and preparation as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a production or industrial environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to direct troubleshooting activities.
- Understanding of USDA regulations, HACCP, and food safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, or odorous conditions.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and stairs; able to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Able to occasionally lift and move items up to 90 lbs.
- Willingness to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Strong leadership, motivational ability, and effective decision‑making skills.
- Willingness to attend training or classes as required.
- Results‑focused, ethical, and team‑oriented mindset.
