A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations at its Indianapolis facility. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality production while leading and developing production teams in a fast-paced environment. The Production Manager will partner closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer demand, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- and manage day-to-day production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are met
- Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly team members
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to align with customer requirements and business objectives
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including safety, quality, scrap, downtime, and throughput
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and waste elimination
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management efforts within production
- Participate in process improvement, equipment upgrades, and capital planning initiatives
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or senior Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment
- Background in automotive, plastics, injection molding, or component manufacturing strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams on the production floor
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, and performance metrics
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Stable manufacturing environment with long‑term growth potential
