Production Manager, Manufacturing Operations / Plant Manager
Location: Indianapolis
The Production Control Specialist supports daily production planning and scheduling activities within a high-volume automotive Tier 1 manufacturing operation. This role interfaces with production, materials, logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure accurate schedules, on-time delivery, and balanced inventory levels. Includes also use of ERP/MRP systems for capacity planning, and inventory control and interaction with customer EDI releases,
Job Function- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability
- Analyze customer EDI releases and adjust schedules to meet fluctuating requirements
- Coordinate with manufacturing supervisors to align schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) avoiding shortage or excess
- Maintain ERP/MRP system accuracy including demand inputs, production orders, and inventory transactions
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to planning accuracy and inventory control
- 5+ years of experience in Production Control, Production Planning, Scheduling, or Materials Management
- Experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive or high-volume discrete manufacturing preferred
- Prefer experience using ERP or MRP systems for production scheduling and inventory control
- Experience working with customer EDI releases and managing schedule changes
- Strong understanding of production flow, capacity planning, and inventory management principles
