Ferrocut Operator​/Burner

As a Ferrocut Operator/Burner, you will play a key role in supporting steel mill operations by preparing, burning, and cutting steel materials to specified sizes and shapes using heavy equipment and flame-cutting tools. This position involves operating mill equipment, performing cutting and burning tasks, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as Ferrocut machine, loaders, material handlers, and other mobile equipment used in steel mill environments.
• Perform flame cutting and oxy-fuel burning operations to cute, prepare, and size steel components according to work orders and specs.
• Set up, adjust, and monitor burner/torch equipment to maintain efficient, accurate cuts.
• Inspect materials before and after cutting for quality control.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance or cleaning tasks.
• Follow all company, mill, and safety policies to maintain a safe work environment,

High School Diploma or GED

Experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial setting is preferred

Hands on experience with industrial cutting, flame cutting or oxy-fuel burning is a strong advantage

Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical instructions, and safety guidelines

Strong committment to safety and ability to work in high heat, noisy, and physically demanding steel mill environment

Good communication skills and ability to work as a team
