JOB SUMMARY

This position operates machines completing one or more processes toward the manufacturing of exhaust pipe assemblies and components. Perform as an active team member in supporting and performing all the tasks within a cell group.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform as a team member of a cellular operating group, which requires the ability to learn, perform preventative maintenance; set-up and operate machines and rotate to all workstations within each cell.
  • Handle materials and tools, operate machines, assemble and inspect all product of varying shapes, sizes and weights.
  • Perform duties within acceptable quality, quantity, performance and safety standards.
  • Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on each machine to ensure safe operating condition and complete daily safety check-off lists.
  • Maintain station control of operations, ensure parts meet specifications, inspect parts to meet quality standards, identify production and quality problems and assist the Team Leader with problem correction.
  • Work within plant policies, handbooks and work instructions to maintain safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards.
  • Overtime as required/requested.
  • Follow machine repair procedures for breakdowns. Complete basic repairs and adjustments of minor problems and report issues to Team Leader or Maintenance.
  • Perform SPC, visual and gauge inspection, and complete charts and required forms.
  • Clean the machine and surrounding work area.
  • Operate machines as assigned to assist co-workers at other workstations as needed.
  • Perform or assist in part changeovers.
  • Assist in 5S advancement and Lean principles implementation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE

  • No previous experience required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read and understand work orders, machine manuals, directions, charts and safety regulations.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate machines and perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to problems and changes in job assignments.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to learn and perform all jobs in the assigned Cell group and rotate to each workstation as needed. Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
