PositionSummary
The Solid Surface Fabricator is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and finishing solid surface countertops and related components according to specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Measure, cut, shape, and fabricate solid surface materials using saws, routers, hand tools
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Perform seam joining, sanding, polishing, and finishing to meet quality standards
- Assemble countertops, back splashes, sinks, and custom components
- Inspect completed products for accuracy, appearance, and structural integrity
- Repair or rework products as needed to meet specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Communicate production issues, material needs, and quality concerns to supervision
- Meet daily/weekly production goals and timelines
- Assist with training junior fabricators as assigned
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and more with assistance
- Stand, bend, reach, and work on feet for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for detailed finishing work
- Ability to work in a production/manufacturing environment with dust and noise
- Exposure to machinery, tools, and fabrication materials
- Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators when applicable)
- Consistently meets quality and production standards
- Follows safety and attendance policies
- Demonstrates professionalism and teamwork
- Maintains low rework and defect rates
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in solid surface fabrication or related manufacturing (preferred)
- Experience using fabrication equipment and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
