As an Equipment Operator/Laborer, you will have responsibility for maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the Aggregates' Operations function, including but not limited to operating heavy equipment such as Front-End Loaders, Haul Trucks, Skid Steers, etc.

Essential Functions
  • Operate, service, and maintain various heavy equipment including front-end loaders, off road dump trucks, skid steers, man-lift, fuel truck, and water truck to keep the plant clean and in production.
  • Responsible for fueling, oiling, greasing equipment and understanding the equipment's safety manual.
  • Perform pre‑shift and end‑of‑shift checks and maintenance on equipment.
  • Report orally and in writing as required and maintain accurate records such as activity reports, inventory reports, maintenance logs, etc.
  • Participate in general training, job‑specific training and hazardous materials training as required; successfully complete written examinations.
  • Understand and follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules applicable to the facility, job function, equipment, including rules governing safety around railroad tracks and equipment.
  • Keep facilities and equipment clean and maintained.
  • Recommend changes to the operation that may produce safer work processes, savings, and efficiencies.
  • Abide by yard rules, safety regulations, and PPE requirements.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork.
  • Follow terminal processes and procedures relating to product transfers, quality assurance, safety, and operations.
  • Complete required training and certifications necessary to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
  • Working knowledge of US Aggregates Safety and Operating principles.
  • Complete all applicable documentation, record‑keeping, and daily inventory.
  • Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass‑on information from team members, management, or customer.
  • Work with a team, take direction, and follow work rules; take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned.
  • Flexible; able to work days, nights, weekends.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Possess and exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently to get things done.
  • Strong welding, torching, and maintenance skills preferred.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and/or kneel at the waist or knees.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outside for the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions; exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather.
