Die Setter Multiple Shifts

Job Description Summary

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all safety mechanisms are in place and functioning before operating the press.
• Adhere to all safety standards and guidelines as outlined in the AAM handbook.
• Install and assemble tooling such as die cavities, upper and lower punches, and core rods into the press.
• Set up and troubleshoot tooling and presses during operation.
• Maintain and inspect tooling and press equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members for efficient production flow and process improvement.

• High School or GED equivalent
• Shift flexible, including weekends as required
• Analytical skills
• Powder metal compacting (5+ years preferred)
• Manufacturing experience in metal forging preferred
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical/pneumatic presses (Cincinnati 550) for powdered metal compacting
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
• Knowledge of forging presses, die setup, material flow, and robot knowledge
• Familiarity with the metallurgical properties of ferrous/non‑ferrous powders and forgings
• Blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Quality inspection tools: micrometers, hardness testers, CMM
