This role plays a key role in the safe, efficient operation of grain handling facilities. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, transferring, and shipping grain while maintaining quality standards and adhering to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment and contribute to the overall success of daily grain operations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate grain handling equipment such as conveyors, elevators, and augers.
Load and unload grain from trucks, railcars, or other transport vehicles.
Monitor grain quality during receiving, storage, and transfer processes.
Conduct routine inspections and perform basic maintenance on grain storage facilities and equipment.
Assist with grain blending, mixing, and processing as required.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, or grain quality problems to management.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Work collaboratively with team members to support efficient workflow and operations.
Assist with inventory tracking and stock control of grain products.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in grain handling, agriculture, or related operations preferred.
Ability to safely operate grain handling equipment and machinery.
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in grain operations.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials.
Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor equipment and processes.
Effective communication skills and ability statuses as part of a team.
Basic mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
