Seasonal Sanitation Associate I 1st Shift & 2nd Shift

Description

The Sanitation Associate is an energetic, motivated individual responsible for cleaning production lines, buildings, and removing debris while maintaining good manufacturing practices and safety. The role requires independent work, ability to follow directions, and embracing diversity in the workplace. The position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Completes checklists associated with sanitation procedures
  • Clean and sanitize all production equipment
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums offices as necessary
  • Ensures food contact surfaces are sanitary
  • Dusts and cleans overhead racking and equipment
  • Maintains bathroom cleanliness
  • Refills dispensers (towels, hand soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, etc.) as directed by supervisor
  • Uses mild cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces
  • Assists the production team by packing herbs when necessary
  • Reports safety hazards or food safety concerns to supervisor
  • Maintains a safe work environment for the team
  • Performs other tasks assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Good attendance
  • Valid work authorization in the U.S.
Preferred Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year sanitation experience in food manufacturing
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of GMPs
  • Bilingual English-Spanish

Work Environment
  • Exposure to wet/humid conditions
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and caustic chemicals
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather
  • Moderate noise level
Physical Demands
  • Oftentimes lifts or carries objects up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Regularly stands, walks, and uses hands to reach and pick up objects
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • May work overtime as needed
Cognitive/Sensory Requirements
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs without help
  • Can stand for 8–10 hours per day
  • Can lift, carry, bend, push, and twist frequently as needed
