Harrison Steel is hiring salaried Line Supervisors on multiple shifts. The Line Supervisor manages hourly employees on an assigned manufacturing line, ensuring correct flow of product and process completion, from rough steel casting to a finished product. The position reports to the Machine Shop Superintendent. Local applicants only are considered, those residing within a 30‑mile commuting radius surrounding Attica, Indiana.
Responsibilities- Train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
- Schedule specific production activities based on superintendent's goal, available castings from previous stage, casting requirements and resource availability
- Coordinate with heat treat, machining and shipping to schedule processing, shipping times and dates; track castings to ensure proper processing
- Ensure necessary supplies are on hand. Monitor equipment status and report any problems to Maintenance or Engineering
- Valid forklift license preferred
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and at least one year of related experience or training. Basic knowledge of computers and mathematics required.
Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate in the office and loud in the Machine Shop. Production buildings are not climate controlled. Temperatures reach 100 degrees inside the facility on many summer days and drop well below 40 degrees in winter.
