About Correctional Industrial Facility: As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the Correctional Industrial Facility promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry. The Correctional Industrial Facility is a level 2-3, medium security Correctional facility for adult males.
The Correctional Industrial Facility is located in Pendleton, Indiana. The Correctional Industrial Facility has various job opportunities available to incarcerated individuals to aid in the re-entry process, including apprenticeships, maintenance, grounds crew, food service, sanitation, barbering, and manufacturing. Incarcerated individuals are also afforded the opportunity to earn their GED.
Role Overview: As a Correctional Chaplain at the Correctional Industrial Facility, you will be responsible for all incarcerated individual’s religious and spiritual needs. In addition, you will develop, implement, maintain, and participate in a wide variety of religious programs. As with every job within the Department of Correction, you will also be responsible for the safety and security of the facility.
Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Oversee the religious and spiritual programs and ensure that programs are developed and implemented in accordance with acceptable standards.
- Prepare and conduct weekly worship services.
- Coordinate visits with offenders by outside clergy.
- Notify offenders of family deaths or other personal tragedies.
