Overview

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Director of Sales to drive efficiency, accountability, and profitability across our markets.
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and scaling Apex’s multi-market sales organization through consistent execution of process, coaching, accountability, and talent development. This role is highly visible and performance-driven, focused on improving close rates, revenue, customer experience, and sales team output while partnering tightly with Operations and Marketing.
Travel Requirement 50-75%
Salary Range $120,000 - $150,000 per year plus bonus potential
Responsibilities- Own market-level and regional sales outcomes including bookings and revenue growth
- Close rate improvement
- Average ticket and product mix
- Financing adoption
- Cancellation reduction
- Sales productivity per rep
- Drive sales discipline and execution through repeatable operating rhythms
- Lead Sales Managers and coach teams through field ride-alongs, call reviews, objection handling, sales training workshops, role-play and skill development
- Hold leaders accountable to standards, numbers, and culture expectations
- Implement Apex’s sales methodology with consistency across markets
- Implement Siro
- Implement Apex’s 4 week sales training for new hires
- Ensure strong execution of in-home consult structure, closing system and follow-up, financing presentation strategy, CRM and pipeline hygiene
- Eliminate randomness — build a machine
- Partner with recruiting and market leadership to hire top sales talent
- Create performance expectations and development plans for all sales roles
- Upgrade underperformers quickly and professionally to protect team standards
- Build internal bench strength and leadership pipeline
- Work closely with Canvass / Lead Gen teams on appointment quality and conversion, Operations on clean handoffs and expectation setting, Marketing on lead flow performance and feedback loops
- Drive a unified customer experience that protects brand reputation
- 7+ years of progressive sales leadership experience
- Proven results leading in-home sales teams, ideally in home improvement or remodeling
- Experience managing multi-location sales teams and leaders
- Strong performance coaching, training, and accountability skills
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, high-expectation environment
- Ability to travel up to 75% and lead in the field, not just from a desk
- Experience building sales infrastructure in a scaling company
- Strong understanding of margin, pricing discipline, and commission effectiveness
- Strong CRM fluency and KPI-based management approach
- Bookings growth and forecast accuracy
