Be part of a mission that transforms lives - two at a time.

At Medical Mutts Service Dogs, our mission is training rescue dogs as service dogs and promoting collaboration between dogs and people through research, education, and ethical training. We are a fast-growing, science-driven nonprofit dedicated to training service dogs for individuals living with medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, hearing loss, and psychiatric disabilities. We exclusively work with dogs from shelters and rescues - giving them a second chance at life as highly skilled service dogs.

We are looking for a cause-driven Executive Director who thrives in a dynamic environment, cares deeply about animal/dog welfare and disability access, and excels at building healthy systems, teams, and long-term organizational stability. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where your operational strengths will have a direct, life-changing impact on people and dogs.

Position Summary

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the organization’s operational and administrative leader and ensures that Medical Mutts functions smoothly, sustainably, and in alignment with its mission and values.

This is a role for a strong organizer, a relationship-centered leader, and someone who loves turning vision into reality through clear systems and accountable teams.

This role does not include program design, training methodology, or scientific leadership, which are governed separately.

The Executive Director works in close partnership with organizational leadership to ensure that operational excellence supports mission integrity.
