Financial Manager, Business Administration
The Business Manager shall serve in a staff position to the Superintendent's office and is responsible to report to the Superintendent. The primary responsibility of the Business Manager shall be to coordinate and supervise the business operations of the school corporation.
In this capacity, the Business Manager shall be considered an administrative position, performing supervisory and advisory tasks. The position shall be a twelve-month position with an annual salary to be determined by the Board of School Trustees.
Position: Full-Time Business Manager
Primary Responsibilities- Oversees the administration of the Business Services and Payroll Departments
- Gives a bond in such sum as shall be required before entering the duties of the office. The premium on such bond to be paid by the Board.
- Prepares and communicates the annual corporation budget and appropriate oversight of the budget once approved.
- Prepares financial reports, projects, and analysis for Superintendent and Board of School Trustees.
- Is responsible for providing monthly financial reports to the Superintendent and Board of School Trustees.
- Provides data and assists with financial negotiations in collective bargaining.
- Supervises and evaluates all personnel in the business office.
- Manages the school district's investment portfolio including cash management services.
- Completes all state and federal financial reports.
- Prepares Form 9
- Assists in the tracking of federal and state grants.
- Assists in the preparation and publishing of the Annual Financial Report.
- Directly responsible for accounts payable, voucher, and vendor checks for the corporation.
- Approves all invoices and assignment to the claim docket for School Board approval. Attends all School Board meetings to present claim docket.
- Reconciles monthly bank statements.
- Is directly responsible for monitoring of appropriation balances.
- Is responsible for maintenance of fixed assets and permanent record management.
- Attends meetings/conferences to stay current on all Indiana school finance issues.
- Maintains good communication and public relations with various public.
- Acts as a liaison among school, departments, and vendors in processing payments and answering questions relating to accounts payable.
- Acts as a liaison between the school corporation, public financial advisor, and bond counsel in obtaining bonds.
- Responsible for payments of all corporation bonds and school loans.
- Serves as coordinator between State Board of Accounts auditors and the corporation during audits. Cooperates with the auditors and provides information to them as requested.
- Carries out special assignments as deemed necessary by Superintendent.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
Salary: Based upon experience and qualifications
Contract: 260 Days
