Location: Indianapolis

This position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the performance of team leaders and front-line team-members located at Marion County Community Corrections facilities. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the supervision of clients, development and knowledge of case plans, referral to services, programming, training in processing client arrivals and releases, handling phone calls and requests, knowledge of home visits, and monitoring of electronic monitoring equipment.

The incumbent will assist in the day-to-day operations and programming related to Marion County Community Corrections and is directly responsible for public safety, team-member safety, team-member accountability, and adherence to evidence-based practices. This position has wide latitude to make decisions related to public safety, team-member safety, client safety and accountability for records management, maintenance and retention, and administrative services. The incumbent has a wide range of discretion on matters such as hiring and terminations that deviate from standards as established within the appropriate policies, procedures, and laws.

Incumbent must effectively identify and evaluate available data to exercise sound judgment when evaluating requirements, productivity of team-members and cost effectiveness of programs. Errors in judgment could cause irreparable consequences and lost work hours to the agency. The incumbent has the freedom to use judgment while assisting in policy formulation and in all types of negotiations. Incumbent will provide input to the manager in agency-wide decision making and will provide assistance in the absence of the Division Manager.

The incumbent in this position is required to be on-call 24-hours a day, seven (7) days a week with a rotating schedule of weekends and holidays as scheduled. Position reports to the Manager, Operations.

  • Responsible for the daily supervision and performance of assigned team-members
  • Assists in personnel matters such as recruitment, promotion, and disciplinary processes
  • Implements, updates, and enforces agency policies, procedures, and standards
  • Enforces adherence to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures
  • Supervises the screening process for all community corrections referrals and ensures coordination with local and out of county and state entities regarding placement
  • Ensures, case management capacity levels are sufficient for placements, as much as possible
  • Provides input for development and assists with review of policies and procedures relating to community corrections including operations, case management, security, field team, work release, and maintenance
  • Maintains crisis intervention training and de-escalation skills in interactions with team-member and clients
  • Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are properly enforced and are consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Responsible for ensuring emergency plans are in place and that team-members are adequately trained
  • Ensure internal and external problems, conflicts, and issues are dealt with appropriately through the use of investigation, fact finding, interviews, and analysis of information, citizen, and client complaints or grievances
  • Represents the agency to other agencies, groups, boards, businesses, and the public in a proper manner fitting the vision and mission statement
  • Serves as the liaison in responding to questions, problems, and concerns of other agencies and divisions, courts, vendors, community individuals, programs, and agencies
  • Prepares statistical data and reports to summarize and evaluate program performance
  • Reviews and monitors client treatment plans and programs, schedules clients for programs, monitors participation, and ensures compliance to program rules and regulations
  • Attends court hearings as needed
  • Participates in the staffing of cases and supervises or reviews recommendations for referrals
  • Monitors client to case manager ratios and violations of program and court orders
