Project Manager, Design and Construction
Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody our values of purpose, excellence, compassion, teamwork, and mission to improve health outcomes. The Project Manager, Design and Construction leads and directs construction projects up to $10 million, primarily focusing on projects of less than $1 million, with accountability for program development, budget, schedule, and team management.
Responsibilities- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate procurement strategies with designers, contractors, and vendors for timely delivery.
- Prepare and manage project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Director.
- Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Support field teams with technical guidance and problem-solving.
- Manage and forecast project costs, resources, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
- Report monthly progress to Design & Construction leadership.
- Oversee substantial completion and major milestone conditions.
- Validate closeout deliverables, including record drawings, manuals, and warranties.

Project ManagementWorks with team members to develop solutions with sound methodologies, guidelines, and best practices. Makes decisions and solves problems within project plan parameters, recognizing patterns, time sequences, events, or underlying issues in complex relationships and selecting the best alternative based on consideration of pros, cons, trade‑offs, timing, and available resources.
Key RelationshipsReports to:
Director, Design and Construction
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field is required.
- 5‑7 years of relevant experience required.
- Professional Engineer preferred.
- Knowledge of business, management, finance, and project cost control techniques.
- Comprehension of applicable regulations such as the NFPA Life Safety Code, ISDH regulations, AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, International Building Code, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
