descriptionThe facility maintenance technician ensures the proper upkeep and maintenance of the facility's interior spaces and surrounding outdoor areas. This role involves performing a variety of tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the facility and its grounds. The technician may work in various settings, such as office buildings, industrial facilities, and yard.
basic employee responsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include the following:
- Performing routine inspections of the facility and yard to identify maintenance needs.
- Inspecting and maintaining facility equipment, such as generators, pumps and HVAC systems.
- Replacing light bulbs, filters and other consumable items as needed.
- Performing basic carpentry and painting tasks to maintain the facility's appearance.
- Performing regular lubrication, cleaning and minor repairs on machinery.
- Coordinating with external vendors for specialized equipment servicing.
- Managing the disposal of waste and recyclables in accordance with local regulations.
- Ensuring proper labeling and containment of hazardous materials if applicable.
- Ensuring proper practice of all safety standard and protocols while performing work.
- Monitoring and reporting any security concerns or unauthorized access to the premises.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate maintenance efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
