EDM Programmer​/Machinist - III

Programs, operates, and maintains EDM equipment to produce quality thermoplastic and thermoset injection molds.

• Works with Makino controllers to create roughing and finishing EDM sequences.
• Uses various tools to inspect electrodes prior to use.
• Performs his/her own machine setups.
• Works with the Supervisor, Scheduler, and General Foreman to understand which tools are to be machined, and in what order they are scheduled.
• Works with the Designers to verify models and which tools and parts are to be machined.
• Inspects work pieces using micrometers, calipers, and height gages.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must meet one of the following
  
  Education and Experience requirements:
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline plus 6 to 8 years of experience in EDM programming and operation;
  • High School Diploma or GED plus 8 to 10 years of experience in EDM programming and operation.
• Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  • Ability to follow directions and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to read and work off blueprints and tool drawings.
  • High level of mechanical skills.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Written and verbal communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of Makino EDM equipment is preferred, but not required.
