About our
Maintenance Technician 2
position

Under the direct supervision and direction of the Facilities Manager, provides timely and cost-effective repair and maintenance services to all organization-owned and leased properties and equipment provides on-call security support during hours facilities are closed.

What you will be doing!

Performs necessary repairs, keeps the customer and supervisor informed of daily activities and any potential problems, maintains quality and professional standards and provides outstanding customer service, operates and maintains assigned organization’s equipment in good working order, performs work assigned and maintains records of work orders, schedules necessary appointments with vendors and manages ongoing projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates and maintains assigned equipment in good working order and maintains records of work orders.
  • Performs basic carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, repairs locks and locksets, performs surface preparation and painting and other maintenance and repairs as required or assigned; performs maintenance-related tasks, as required.
  • Performs necessary repairs on all organization-owned or leased properties and equipment by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of machine, tools, equipment, and other services.
  • Looks for cost-effective methods of repair and consults with the Facilities Manager, when needed, to manage costs.
  • Purchases maintenance supplies equipment, as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Moves organization’s property and equipment as requested by staff.
  • Routinely tracks projects and tasks by following up with internal and external customers/vendors and provides status to customers and supervisor, as needed.
  • Schedules work with appropriate vendors based on location and work required, as needed.
  • Performs additional project work, as determined necessary to accomplish the organization’s initiatives; manages project through completion, with support from Facilities Manager.
  • Maintains a high level of quality and professional standards and provides outstanding customer service.
  • Maintains job knowledge by attending meetings and trainings as required.
  • Provides front desk/reception coverage, as needed; provides on-call security support during hours facilities are closed.
  • Works evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years’ experience in providing repair and maintenance services in an environment that requires flexibility. Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting skills.

License:

Ability to travel, within facilities service area.

Must have access to car. Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance required.

Lifting Requirements

Up to 25 pounds
- Frequently

26 to 50 pounds – Occasionally

Salary Range:

$21.98-$32.98 hourly
