Job Summary

The Engineering Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the installation, performance, and maintenance of production machinery.

Role Responsibilities
  • Travels to customers' locations for technical support
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
  • Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  • Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Installs replacement parts for machines.
  • Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  • Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Organizes and prepares reports documenting work performed.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies when applicable.
  • Collaborates with customers during service calls/visits on recommended fixes or upgrades.
  • Makes necessary modifications and implements test runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience working with Multivac, Scandivac, Reiser, Ulma or similar equipment preferred.
  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
  • Low voltage electrical knowledge.
  • Must know how to use a multimeter and ammeter.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available for travel.
  • Expected travel 70% (including local travel; Home most weekends).
