Janitorial Supervisor - Friday through Sunday
Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 am–4:00 pm
Responsibilities- Supervise, schedule, and assign the cleaning staff for daily interior cleaning of the building, including waste removal, floor care, dusting, restroom restocking, wall washing, mopping, spill cleanup, and window cleaning in accordance with established procedures.
- Assign tasks, inspect work areas, issue supplies and equipment, and conduct inventory to ensure adequate supplies.
- Assist or conduct screening and hiring of job applicants, train new and experienced employees, perform performance reviews, and recommend promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
- Prepare and present reports on room occupancy, hours worked, staff assignments, task completion, and department expenses.
- Supervise and assist with exterior building and premises cleaning, snow removal, and basic maintenance such as exterior walls, windows, parking lots, walkways, gardens, pools, curbs, and stairwells.
- Assign staff for minor maintenance and repair work, including painting, light bulb and fixture replacement, window replacement, furniture and equipment relocation, door and gate repairs, landscaping, and simple plumbing or fixture repairs.
- Perform or supervise additional duties as required, including gardening, lawn care, outdoor furniture maintenance, inventory control, snow removal, and tenant moves.
- Promptly respond to and notify management of spills, emergency situations, repair needs, broken equipment, structural damage, plumbing issues, and heating/cooling/ventilation problems.
- Ensure safe operation and training of cleaning equipment, snow removal equipment, tools, devices, chemical agents, mops, vacuums, power tools, and special cleaning solutions to protect floors, fixtures, personnel, and the environment.
- Organize and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for cleaning products, solvent and material handling, and ensure staff training on the Hazard Communication Program and use of appropriate safety gear; dispose of chemicals in an environmentally friendly manner.

- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 2 years related experience, preferably at the supervisory level
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Ability to follow and provide oral and written instructions
- Capability to follow through and carry out work orders and coordinate schedules to perform such work
- Ability to supervise and work collaboratively with others
- Must be reliable, thorough, observant, very organized, flexible, and courteous
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel) and Work Order System
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role requires travel between properties in varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands- Ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lb. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices
- Regularly required to crouch and reach to move or install equipment by bending forward or legs and spine
- Movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work

Benefits & CompensationCompensation: $18.70 – $22.00 per hour, depending on location, experience, and collective bargaining agreement.
