Defense Litigation Attorney

Location: Indianapolis

Job Description

Position: Detail-oriented defense litigation attorney with extensive litigation experience. This position needs to be filled by someone looking to further expand their Attorney Career at an established firm in the Indianapolis area. The Firm is a multi state firm so being licensed in multiple states besides Indiana is a bonus.

Core Responsibilities

• Case Management:
  Oversee a diverse caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring all court deadlines are met
• Pleading & Motion Practice:
  Draft and argue critical legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions to dismiss , and motions for summary judgment .
• Discovery & Investigation:
  Conduct written discovery, perform document reviews, and take/defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Trial & Court Appearances:
  Represent clients in state and federal courts across Indiana for hearings, mediations, and bench or jury trials.
• Strategic Counseling:
  Provide legal advice on risk assessment, case evaluation, and settlement options to help clients navigate complex disputes.
• Client Relations:
  Manage direct communications with clients, providing regular updates and maintaining high-level professional service.

Indiana Licensing & Requirements

• Licensure:
  Must be in good standing and licensed
• Education:
  
  A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school is required
