Technology Support Intern
LocationIn person at partner sites in Indianapolis, with minor overnight and out-of-state travel.
Dates & HoursUp to 35 hours a week available May through August 2026 (based on school schedules).
General SummaryWired Technology Partners supports K-12 school districts with managed technology services. We remove roadblocks so teachers focus on instruction and students stay connected to learning.
You will support summer technology projects for school districts. Most work happens on‑site at the school districts. The work centers on device deployment, inventory, and basic troubleshooting. You will work alongside skilled Onsite Support Engineers and receive hands‑on training for each task assigned. You will document your work and communicate with school staff and the Wired team.
Responsibilities- Enroll and provision Chromebooks in Google Workspace
- Load student devices and power adapters into charging carts
- Clean and organize charging carts
- Perform device inventory and asset tagging
- Deploy new Windows, macOS, and tablet devices
- Redeploy devices for refresh cycles and back‑to‑school prep
- Perform basic troubleshooting for devices, peripherals, and classroom tech
- Follow checklists and build repeatable processes for staging and deployment
- Communicate status updates to school staff and Wired team members
- Document all work performed in the ticketing system and on project trackers
- Follow Wired safety expectations while working in schools
- Coursework, training, or hands‑on experience in IT support
- Basic understanding of LAN and WAN concepts, cabling, and common components
- Comfort with Windows, macOS, Chrome
OS, and tablets - Strong attention to detail during staging, labeling, and inventory work
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Strong task ownership and follow‑through
- Good time management and prioritization
- Works well on a team and takes direction well
- Stays calm under pressure during peak summer weeks
- Maintains strong attendance
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel to partner sites during the week
- Minor overnight travel on some projects
- Work hours are typically up to 35 hours per week, with occasional after‑hours work during cutovers or high‑volume days
- All approved travel expenses paid
