DESCRIPTION
We are hiring Data Center Technicians-Logistics to expand networking services in the Midwest for an enterprise level Technology company. Our Infrastructure Team is responsible for delivering day-to-day logistics and inventory support for servers and network systems. The Data Center Technician-Logistics position will provide logistics and infrastructure support for enterprise computers, servers, ports, switches and more. Overall, this is a great opportunity for data center, logistics, and/or IT professionals looking to grow their IT career to an enterprise level.
DUTIES
  • Receive and prepare inventory for rack installments.
  • Label cabling and scan codes.
  • Partner with vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cabling.
  • Install, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.
  • Support server rack, power-up operations at multiple sites.
  • Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and slack Ensure safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Prepare stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches).
  • Follow specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
  • Set up equipment properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  • Perform post-execution quality checks and verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures.
  • Quickly identify the cause(s) of issues, and replace faulty components.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refresh (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.
ADDITIONAL
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.
  • Previous data center, cabling, IT, electrical, wiring, mechanical, or engineering experience a plus.
SCHEDULE & ENVIRONMENT

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
