What You'll Contribute

This position will provide technical product and process expertise in support of national and regional sales strategies. A significant portion of the School Solutions Consultant’s time will be spent working with members of the Relationship Management and other Sallie Mae departments to develop, maintain, and enhance productive business relationships with current and prospective school clients.

This position will have responsibility for managing schools and/or corporate accounts. The incumbent will serve as the primary interface for the Relationship Managers to provide technical solutions to customers. This will include detailed discovery and analysis of clients’ processes and platforms to develop a solution in accordance with loan delivery industry best practices. The incumbent will advise and facilitate client implementation of Sallie Mae product lines in conjunction with school financial aid management systems.

Incumbent must possess the ability to effectively communicate and present solutions to large and small audiences. This position will be directly involved with enterprise initiatives such as defining, testing, and implementing new processing initiatives, code changes and general process optimization projects.

What You'll Do Support Strategic Sales Goals
  • Works with the appropriate groups to implement web products such as Open Net Web Loan Delivery and File Management System.
  • Serves as the primary interface with key schools in matters of loan origination processing and platform issues and technical aspects of product and service offerings.
  • Implementation and maintenance of critical school, lender, and product profiles.
  • Successfully manages client relationships during implementation of Sallie Mae product or services to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Presents product and process solutions and customized training on campus.
  • Creates, completes and monitors individual process flows and implementation plans for customers.
  • Evaluate competitor products and services to inform strategic recommendations.
Develop and Maintain Product Expertise
  • Keeps well-informed of emerging technical and processing issues associated with Sallie Mae products and services, industry trends and requirements. Seek opportunities to understand 3rd party products and services (ELM, Scholar Net, etc.).
  • Serves as a resource for schools and internal areas on new products/processes.
  • Subject matter expertise on industry standards and file exchange (Common Line).
  • Communicates with Relationship Managers and other customer facing groups regarding the appropriate use of new products by school customers.
