About the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA):
FSSA was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 1991 to consolidate and better integrate the delivery of human services by state government. FSSA is a health care and social services funding agency. Ninety-four percent of the agency’s total budget is paid to thousands of service providers ranging from major medical centers to a physical therapist working with a child or adult with a developmental disability.
The seven care divisions in FSSA administer services to more than 1.5 million Hoosiers. FSSA’s mission is to compassionately serve Hoosiers of all ages and connect them with social services, health care and their communities.
Role Overview:
The Medicaid Health IT Coordinator position provides policy and regulatory analysis at the state and federal level as it relates to the Medicaid Information Technology environment within the FSSA's Division of Strategy and Technology department. This position works closely with the Medicaid Systems Manager in overseeing system changes and projects for the State of Indiana's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $79,118.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Manage projects with moderate complexity and scope that may involve multiple internal or external stakeholders or contracted resources.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, work breakdown structures and budgets.
- Define user and project team member’s roles and responsibilities on each project. Coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Manage and problem-solve for project risks, issues and changes while ensuring proper escalation when needed.
- Coordinate and monitor activities of all stakeholders to ensure the project is completed within any time constraints.
- Communicate project status to management and project stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and prepare lessons learned to improve future projects.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- a Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of experience in information technology, Computer science, Business Administration or a related field, or
- an Associate's Degree and 3+ years of experience in information technology, Computer science, Business Administration or a related field, or
- at least 5+ years of experience in information technology, Computer science, Business Administration or a related field applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
- Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.
- Three (3) years of project management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, risk management, and estimation of resources.
