Job Summary

Blue Ridge Automation is seeking a full-time Systems Architect position. This position will be responsible for developing project scopes and designing, creating, and deploying solutions that align with customer needs and adhere to established department standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a passion for designing innovative, data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers to define project scope and develop tailored system architecture solutions.
  • Design and implement factory business integration solutions using industry best practices.
  • Develop and support real-time production monitoring, traceability, and statistical process control (SPC) analytics.
  • Integrate HMI/SCADA, MES, ERP, and recipe management systems into a cohesive automation infrastructure.
  • Manage IT and OT infrastructure components to ensure seamless data flow and system reliability.
  • Analyze production and operational data to identify opportunities for performance improvements.
  • Ensure all solutions align with continuous improvement and process optimization principles.
  • Support cross-functional teams during deployment and troubleshooting phases of projects.
  • Document system designs, workflows, and technical specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report project progress and escalate issues to the Director of FBi as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in factory business integration and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience in designing and supporting real-time production monitoring and traceability systems.
  • Knowledge of HMI/SCADA, MES, ERP integration, and recipe management platforms.
  • Understanding of IT and OT infrastructure and their roles in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and data flow optimization.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Exposure to regulated or complex industries such as Petcare, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Automotive, or Metal Work.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to high-quality documentation and adherence to project standards and timelines.
