Role Overview:
The Senior Citrix Administrator is a senior-level administrator who designs, reviews, and monitors Production Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop sites, as well as supporting key Netscaler load-balancing and Gateway functionality. You will ensure that the datastore, Delivery Controllers, Store Front and Licensing server (RDS and Citrix) are properly installed, configured, and maintained. You will also utilize vendor contacts and maintenance contracts to maintain high availability, plan for future growth, and identify new application virtualization technologies to be adopted by the State.
You will provide guidance and direction for the IOT Citrix Team, including root cause analysis, detailed process and QA documentation, and resource allocations. This primarily includes leveraging technologies such as Control Up real-time and historical data to determine app utilization, CPU and RAM utilization, and long-term trends in licensing. You will evaluate existing and future product releases (primarily LTSRs) for both CVAD and the Workspace App client.
You will collaborate with other members of the team to identify challenges and opportunities with each step in the life‑cycle management process. You will be responsible for advising IOT management on which upgrades should be made.
Certification in Citrix and/or other application virtualization technologies is highly preferred.

- The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Provide excellent customer service while overseeing, monitoring and escalating ticket resolution, as needed.
- Ensure new and existing Citrix stakeholders are satisfied with the EUE of their virtualized applications.
- Interface with other IOT Teams to implement security best practices for session reliability and EUE.
- Collaborate with Citrix Team members to create and implement naming standards for MCs, DGs, AGs, OUs and AD groups.
- Meet with Stakeholders to explain and quantify security measures taken to secure sessions.
- Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures, including updating Netscaler virtual appliances.
- Assist customers in their efforts to debug and document system software upgrades and new releases.
This is an onsite position at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $70,122 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

- Technical Support

Evaluate new and existing software products.
Implement operating system enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
Design, develop, modify, and maintain complex system software using releases and utilities.
Responsible for software applications related to the overall operating system, including sophisticated file maintenance routines, telecommunications networks, and computer accounting. - Project Management
Assign staff to various projects, direct their activities, and evaluate their work.
May perform as team lead or project manager in assigned areas.
May oversee multiple projects or project phases. - Communication/Collaboration
Mentor and provide guidance to new and lower-level staff.
Confer with department management to assist in planning, organizing, and controlling activities of assigned areas. - System Administration
Responsible for activities related to systems administration.
Ensure long-term requirements of systems operations and administration, including overall systems planning.
Responsible for installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software and its components.
Responsible for quality assurance review of system software.
