Position OverviewBWXT is looking for a Process Improvement Project Manager in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Join our NOG Digital Transformation team and lead business process improvement initiatives to modernize business systems and upscale and streamline processes across NOG. The Digital Transformation Office partners with stakeholders to liaise between the business and IT to deliver world-class enterprise applications focused on streamlining our processes and user experience.
You will work closely with various BWXT departments and sites to understand business challenges, develop innovative strategies to optimize business processes and bring digital technologies to solve identified problems by gathering requirements and process mapping, increasing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring adequate communication and user training to ensure successful technology adoption. Some initiatives include optimizing digital data collection, implementing Manufacturing Execution System (Solumina) software, and upgrading from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA.
You will also help develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and adopt new processes and technology.
Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Must be willing to report to the site as scheduled. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
Your Day to Day as a Digital Process Improvement Specialist- Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement through process mapping.
- Facilitate and document requirements gathering and user story creation.
- Collaborate with peers to create consistent processes and practices across the organization.
- Put together project teams and collaborates with IT to evaluate and implement new technologies and digital tools to enhance process efficiency.
- Assist with product testing and validation.
- Provide business process change management support.
- Lead and manage process improvement projects from conception to implementation.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, by increasing employee adoption and usage.
- Prepare and presents regular reports on process improvement projects and their impact on business performance.
- Define and measure success metrics and monitors change progress.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure buy-in and successful adoption of new processes.
- Help to create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.
- Collaborate with BWXT leadership, IT teams, and other key stakeholders to align process improvement initiatives with business objectives.
- Work with site training departments to develop training materials and coordinate sessions to educate staff on new processes and digital tools.
- Evaluate and ensure user readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience in process improvement, project management, or change management OR
- High School diploma/equivalent and at least 10 years of relevant experience in process improvement, project management, or change management.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Experience using process mapping tools, or Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to embrace change.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
