We are seeking a Dev Ops Engineer based in Indianapolis to support our infrastructure and deployment pipelines in a clinical technology environment. This role has a strong focus on Azure, Terraform, Linux, and Ansible (AWS experience is a plus). You will work directly within a platform engineering team building clinical software, including the Atom5 platform in the Microsoft stack, supporting eCOA (Electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment) solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform – required working with a global team (US, UK, India).
- Support and automate infrastructure in Azure, with exposure to broader public cloud environments.
- Administer and manage Linux systems (strong user-level and admin skills required).
- Implement and maintain automation with Ansible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and maintain eCOA platforms, especially Atom5, in a regulated environment.
- Support CI/CD workflows, monitoring, and alerting for production systems.
- Help ensure systems are compliant with clinical data standards and secure for regulated environments.
- Work effectively with global engineering and operations teams in the UK and India to coordinate deployments, troubleshoot issues, and align on infrastructure strategy.
- 3–5 years of experience in a Dev Ops or infrastructure engineering role within Azure environments.
- Linux Expertise (user and admin experience)
- Proficiency in Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
- Experience with shell scripting and CLI tools for automation and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Linux networking, file systems, permissions, and service management.
- Infrastructure & Automation
- Deep understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud environments.
- Experience integrating Terraform and Ansible into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Ansible for automation/configuration
- Security & Compliance
- Familiarity with SSH, firewalls, and secure configuration practices.
- Experience managing secrets and credentials securely (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Ansible Vault).
- Prior work in clinical technology, life sciences IT environments, or regulated environments (e.g., Atom5, Medidata, Veeva) or (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, and 21 CFR Part 11)
- Scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python) – a bonus.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with international teams, particularly in the UK and India.
- Familiarity with eCOA platforms or clinical trial technologies (e.g., Atom5, Medidata, Veeva).
