Technical Support Specialist – Part-time, First Shift (20 hrs weekly)
Versiti Blood Center of Indiana – the world‑renowned Blood Research Institute – is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our Information Systems department. This part‑time position (20 hrs/week) is a first‑shift role that focuses on providing high‑quality first‑line support for software, hardware, telecom, and peripherals to remote and on‑site users.
Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Manager IS Technical Support, the Specialist provides first‑level support, promotes the department’s values, and maintains a timely, customer‑service orientation.

- Resolve incidents and service requests in line with departmental quality standards and SLAs.
- Log calls, triage or escalating issues as applicable.
- Provide remote and on‑site support for environments and applications, troubleshooting problems.
- Use available resources and knowledge bases to fully understand a user’s environment.
- Communicate status updates to users and peers throughout issue resolution.
- Set up new user environments – phone, computer, drives, email, printing.
- Assist in new employee orientation for technical issues.
- Deploy pre‑authorized packaged applications.
- Complete backups using legacy systems (tape) and report issues.
- Monitor the IS environment for system status and events, taking appropriate action.
- Update the knowledge base and share tips with colleagues.
- Propose articles for the End User Computing team to publish on the Intr ranet.
- Provide blood‑drive support, conferencing support, file recovery, role and access management.
- Perform other duties within the scope of this classification.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Comply with standard operating policies and procedures.
Associate’s degree in a computer field preferred or equivalent experience (required).
Experience1–3 years of customer‑service experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Familiarity with end‑user computing environments.
- Ability to coordinate user requests to resolution.
- Ability to adhere to Versiti IS standards in a regulated environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with standard business desktop applications.
- Desktop computers, laptops, handheld devices (tablets, mobile, other wireless equipment).

- Microsoft Office products including Office 365 and SharePoint.
