Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are a leading Midwest-based recruiting firm partnering with a premier manufacturer on the north side of Indianapolis to identify a standalone Senior HR Generalist to lead their people operations.
This is the "sweet spot" for an HR professional who wants the stability of a 10-year average employee tenure combined with the high-growth trajectory of a $35M PE-backed organization.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the HR function. You aren’t just managing a process; you are a strategic partner shaping the culture of an 80-person team and championing the goal of becoming one of Indiana’s Best Places to Work.
The EnvironmentYou’ll join a collaborative leadership team.
- The Structure:
You are the sole HR practitioner, providing a high-touch presence for 55 hourly and 20 office employees. - The Tools:
Utilize modern platforms for recognition and data-driven metrics to guide leadership. - The Flexibility:
While this is an on-site role, the culture supports genuine work-life integration (flexible start times and WFH for family needs/appointments).
- Culture Champion:
Lead engagement initiatives and retention strategies to maintain industry-leading tenure. - Talent Acquisition:
Manage full-cycle recruitment for skilled trades, production, and administrative roles. - Compliance & Safety:
Serve as the SME for FMLA, OSHA, and EEOC; maintain the employee handbook and safety protocols. - Employee Relations:
Act as a trusted advisor to managers and a visible advocate for the workforce.
- Experience:
5+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or plant environment. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field. - Industry Savvy:
Proven success supporting both hourly and salaried work forces within PE-owned or mid-sized industrial companies. - Soft Skills:
High integrity, approachable leadership style, and the ability to work independently. - Preferred: SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certifications;
Lean Manufacturing familiarity.
- Salary: $90,000 – $105,000 + Annual Bonus
- Stability:
High-growth revenue and a low-turnover, "people-first" culture.
