Regulatory Compliance Specialist, HRIS Professional, HR Manager, HR / Recruitment Consultant
Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C., the nation's largest healthcare law firm, focused exclusively on matters specific to health care organizations, is seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our Human Resources Team. The Payroll Analyst manages accurate and timely payroll for all attorneys and staff, ensuring compliance with complex federal/state/local laws, handling deductions/garnishments/bonuses, review and confirmation of timekeeping, reconciling accounts, maintaining records, and serving as a resource for pay inquiries.
Key duties involve processing pay cycles (bi-weekly/off-cycle), data integrity checks, year-end W-2s, and coordinating with HR/Finance on timekeeping and benefits, as well as support leave management while maintaining high confidentiality and analytical skills.
- Process and review payroll transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Analyze payroll data and identify errors or inconsistencies, making necessary corrections before payroll runs.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve any discrepancies timely and accurately.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management, finance, and auditing purposes.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support onboarding, benefits, and compensation processes.
- Ensure payroll tax filings are completed accurately and on time.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations, and implement necessary updates to payroll procedures.
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as requested.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or payroll analysis.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with HR/payroll HCM such as ADP or Paylocity.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The role involves frequent interaction with HR, finance, and employees across the organization.
Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8-hour day shift with occasional overtime during payroll cycles or audits.
