Overview

HR Coordinator

This role supports the day-to-day administration of Workers’ Compensation, health insurance, and employee engagement initiatives for NCW office and field employees. The position serves as a key point of coordination between employees, internal HR partners, and vendors to ensure compliance, timely reporting, and positive employee experience. In addition to managing medical-only Workers’ Compensation claims and health insurance administration, the role provides essential reporting and administrative support to the HR team.

This position plays an important role in risk mitigation, benefits accuracy, employee communication, and the execution of HR projects that support workforce stability and organizational goals.

Workers Compensation Administration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for medical-only Workers’ Compensation claims
    , coordinating care and documentation with injured employees and providers.
  • Monitor medical-only claims for accuracy, timely reporting, and appropriate classification, and closure.
  • Escalate medical-only claims to indemnity status when thresholds or criteria are met, alert HR Generalist.
  • Manage return-to-work and light-duty programs.
  • Analyze injury trends and share insights with the Safety Manager to help mitigate risk.
  • Complete quarterly Workers’ Compensation filings and ensure EMR remains competitive.
  • Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs.
Health Insurance Administration
  • Assist in open enrollment as needed.
  • Assist in field employee enrollment as needed.
  • Oversee field insurance terminations through monthly audits.
  • Oversee field insurance administration and ensure accuracy in coverage selections.
  • Manage Medical Support Notices and coordinate with the broker.
Engagement, Culture & Communication
  • Assist with the rollout and administration of employee engagement and recognition programs for office and field employees.
  • Gather and analyze employee feedback through surveys, check-ins, and focus groups; summarize insights for HR Generalist and HR Director.
  • Coordinate wellness initiatives and benefits-related events that support employee well-being.
  • Support communications that promote engagement, retention, and alignment with company values.
HR Projects, Reporting & Administrative Support
  • Process and respond to field employee verification of employment requests.
  • Process and respond to field employee hours letter requests.
  • Assist the HR Generalist with HR initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Miscellaneous duties and projects as department and organization grows.
